Micro-credit is not a one-stop shop for all "poverty-related issues", however, i am of the opinion that it is a very potent weapon in the face of rural poverty. Another factor that we ignore when assessing Micro - credit and its effect is the thought process of the populace.i.e. the way they think. That is why Micro-credit in a place like Nigeria may not be as effective as somewhere like Bangladesh, where the default rate is not as high. This is not to debunk that fact that it has shown relative success in some areas.
